We won't be seeing a break in this heat and humidity until maybe next week.
County fair...
our fair started this morning. I don't know if or when we'll be going out. We're suppose to have the 2 youngest grandsons Sunday and Monday because Teresa is working at the fair, so we may take the boys out then. It gets more and more expensive every year so we won't be doing much. And with the heat, I may leave Hubby at home. He gets so grumpy when he feels miserable.
My brother...
my brother in Texas has a birthday Saturday the 31st. Every year he gets mail from me on his birthday, sometimes a gift, other times just a card. I almost forgot him this year. So I quickly wrote a letter this morning and gave it to the mailman.
Our mother...
our mother's birthday was last week and it's always a nostalgic day for the 3 of us, my brother, sister and me. So many memories of her and the things we did together. She would have been 95.
Wedding reception....
when our daughter got married last year, they couldn't have a reception because of their busy schedules. He had to get back to work, she was working plus trying to finish her schooling so she could take her state exam. Then the move to Michigan and our grandson starting in a new school. Consequently, to celebrate they decided to have a party this weekend for their first anniversary. Both families will be there, at his mother's house in the country. Mike's mother and sister have even ordered a wedding cake for them. It should be fun.
Fried chicken...
It's been a busy day for me, so when we went to the grocery store this afternoon I picked up a store-prepared fried chicken for supper. It smelled so good. All I had to do when we got home was prepare some potatoes. I like those kinds of meals -- quick and easy.
Too much togetherness....
there is such a thing. Ever since Hubby totally retired, we've spent day after day, 24/7, together. The only break I get is when he goes out for a range meeting (2 hrs. once a month). I'm thinking we each need some "me time" but I have no place go. It's not that I don't love him, but when I start getting frustrated at the little things he does, and have to bite my tongue, I know I'm in trouble.
Cake...
I baked a cake last night for no reason except I was hungry for one. My favorite. Just a white cake with vanilla icing. Now I can hear it out there in the kitchen calling my name.
Until later.............
You sure do have some fun times coming up...enjoy! I totally understand spending 24-7, 30 days, 12 months and no breaks. At least your sweetie isnt helpless or sick. I call going to church my 'happy place' because it is...I get to leave the house alone for an hour or so. Bless their hearts, they dont even think of things like we do, do they? Sure wish I was there to enjoy a piece of that cake with you!
ReplyDeleteMen really don't think like women, and I think it drives most of us a little crazy. I'm still working full time, but Joe is home most of the day. He isn't sloppy, he picks up after himself, but he just doesn't look around and see things that need to be done. Then, on the weekends, he says "I could do that during the week so you don't have to spend your weekend cleaning"...but he never does! LOL Bless their hearts!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a Fair for years and years. I'll look forward to hearing about your time at the Fair with your grands.
I made a yellow cake last weekend because I was hungry for cake. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do!
Hope you get a picture or two to share from the anniversary party! Sounds like it will be lots of fun for everyone!
Have a great weekend!
Enjoy your weekend, the fair and the party - sounds like you'll be busy and worn out by Monday LOL! I think every man needs a hobby that gets him away from the house for a while every day. I hope if my husband ever retires, which it looks like it won't be possible, that he continues with some of the things he enjoys.
