There's not much to report today. Our weekend was quiet. We spent the hours resting and trying to survive the sore muscles from the ordeal last Friday.
Weather-wise it's been a good day. The morning was very cloudy but as the clouds moved out, the temperature went up. It was a comfortable 67° with some sunshine.
Our #3 daughter came in on her lunch break to report on the new apartment and how the boys were doing. It's beginning to feel like home now. The boys slept well last night and they got ready for school this morning with no problems. That first night was a bad one tho'. I knew it would be. One of the boys walked in his sleep and the other one had nightmares. She didn't get any sleep because she was afraid to close her eyes. She kept them in her bed and watched them all night. They're doing better now. It's just such a big adjustment for them.
Bob and I are going over tomorrow night to stay with the boys because Teresa has to drive down to OSU Columbus after work to get her #1 son moved out of his dorm. He's taking off the next semester so he can be here with her during this divorce process. He's scared for her safety. We haven't let him find out a lot of what she's been going through because he had to keep his mind on school and finals this past week.
On a better note... I got a pc camera with microphone today and I've been trying to figure out how to use it. I don't know anyone on Skype or any of those other sites. It says it's working properly but I haven't been able to test it yet. It didn't come with any manual or disk so here it sits. I'll figure out something. Unless someone can give me any ideas on where to go from here.
For nothing to report, I've managed to fill a page with my ramblings. So with that, I'll stop and wish you a good night.

We got it done!
Oh, my gosh!! We are so tired and sore today, we can't hardly move. But we got our daughter moved yesterday. It took 3 cars, 2 pick-up trucks and a large trailer, plus 2 trips, to get it all over there. Her "soon-to-be-ex husband" was on very good behavior. He kept handing things to her to take with her, helped load up the heavy stuff and even drove one of the pick-ups over, twice. Of course his father-in-law was there so he might have figured he better behave or he'd get pinned to the wall.
This picture was taken at 1:00pm. We had gotten the trailer and the pick-up unloaded and the furniture into the house. Bob and Teresa took a short break. We were already whipped.
After this, we had our van, her car and the one pick-up truck packed full again so we headed out. Jr. rode with Grandpa in the van because we had to squeeze Bryan into the back seat of her car. He said he was ok. He felt "real cozy".
Our #1 daughter Lisa and her husband met us when they got off work and helped unload the cars. Then her and I went about the task of putting things away, moving the furniture so there was a path to get through the apartment. Around 7:00 Lisa went down the street to get a couple buckets of chicken. By then we were all starving. None of us had eaten since breakfast. After I got that mess all cleaned up, we were back at it again. Her place was beginning to look liveable, the beds were made and the TV was on. Lisa's husband had total control of the remote. So Bob and I said our goodbyes. It was 9:00 by the time we got home. I was in bed an hour later.
Today we're both sore but we're ok. I haven't done anything all day. I don't even have to cook supper. We're going out to Taco Bell later. I haven't talked to Teresa yet to see how they slept the first night in their new apartment. I'll call her later.
We've got another beautiful day today. Warm sunshine. The birds are singing and I've got a few windows open. This is my kind of weather. But as they say in Ohio... just wait, it'll change soon. We're suppose to have rain tonight and all day tomorrow.
Well, if you stayed to read this far, I thank you to taking an interest in my life. This post was mainly written as a journal page so if one of my daughters EVER decide to move again, I can come back to this and feel confident to say "sorry.. I'm too old to do that anymore".

By 3:00pm we had the vehicles unloaded and back to the house for more. We still had the boys' room and all the clothes and coats out of the closets. Bryan had just gotten off the bus so he wanted Grandpa to shoot some hoops with him. He beat Grandpa (of course he did... wink) and he came running into the house, out of breath, to tell me. He's 5 years old and the sweetest little guy.

Thursday, April 25
We had a busy, tiring day yesterday. We helped our #3 daughter get some of her things moved into her new apartment. We drove our van over so she could load it up again today to transport more. Then we drove her new car home. That was a nice ride. She's moving from 30 miles south of us in the country to a small town just 15 miles east of us.
While we were there, I helped her unload boxes from her kitchen and put them away while Bob took care of a couple repairs and helped me move around some heavy boxes. She kept complaining about the place but when you divorce and he kicks her and the 3 kids out, giving her until Friday (tomorrow) to get her stuff out, there's not much she could do. She looked at 9 different places before she settled on this one. It's not in the best of shape, but I'm sure they'll be ok. The location is good, almost everything she'd need is within walking distance. The backyard is fenced in for the boys. And the neighbor has a little one they can play with.
Tomorrow we'll be meeting her to help move the washer and dryer, their beds, a couch and one chair, etc. The heavy stuff. He's even going to help. I'm not looking forward to coming face to face with him but I'm going to have to watch Bob so he doesn't get angry and loose his temper. It's going to be a tense day, I know that for sure.
Thank you everyone for saying a prayer for her.
My plans for today are very little. I'm getting some laundry done and I'm fixing pork chops for supper. The rest of the day is going to be casual and quiet, I hope.
I hope you have a great day. ♥

Tuesday, April 23
It's so nice outside
today. The temperature is in the 60's with a slight cloud cover. I was sitting
out on the back patio watching the birds. Two robins were trying to get worms
out of the ground. We were laughing at their actions. Then a female cardinal
came over and sat on the clothesline pole and just watched me before she flew
off into the bush. That's when I saw the male. He wasn't far off, they never
are. He was so pretty, bright red. Of
course I didn't have a camera with me.
I talked to our new
neighbors yesterday. A girl, her husband
and their 3 kids. I call her a girl because I still see her that way. I've
known her for years… used to babysit her and her twin sisters. Oh, she was a handful.
Loved to bite. I hope she's grown out of that. That was 30 years ago!
Our youngest daughter had planned on coming over after work today to get our van to move some of her things over to her new apartment. When she hadn't shown up by 7:00 I sent her a message to see if she was still coming. She had gone home and had forgotten about it. She's exhausted. She got home late last night from Chicago. There were several from the shop that went to a seminar for massage therapists over the weekend. Long trip. Her nerves are at that fraying point anyways, then this trip. She worries me. How much more can she handle? I keep praying God will help her get through this.

A
'disgusting' film is set to appear in America later this year, June to August,
depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals!
Can you believe this? It makes me so angry. As a play, this has already
been in theaters for a while. It's
called "Corpus Christi" which
means "The Body of Christ".
It's a revolting 'mockery' of our Lord. I plan to tell everyone I can to
NOT go see it!
I think I'll go over to Facebook now, check in with some folks, and maybe work another jig-saw puzzle before I go to bed.
I hope you had a good day.

A Beautiful Sunday
It was a beautiful day... lots of sunshine and blue sky with just those little wisps of clouds that look like brushstrokes. It could have been a little warmer for me. It only got up to 59°.
We didn't do much today. We ran an errand this afternoon, to the drug store for Bob's refill. Then we drove around town, just enjoying the warm sun.
I fixed some steaks for supper, with baked potatoes and a salad. Bob's favorite. It tasted good to me too. I usually don't eat much red meat, but occasionally I get hungry for a steak.
While we were doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen, our #2 daughter, who lives in Michigan, called. They're all doing good. She had a busy day at work, some new massage clients re-booked with her for next week. She's building up her clientele, slowly. So she's happy.
She's been shopping for new shoes for our grandson. He's just 16, stands 6'4" and wears a size 15 shoe! And not one bit of extra fat on him. He's all muscle. A big boy. He's the grandson that always teases me about my height... 5'1½". He bends way down to hug me. One day he got on his knees to give me a hug and everyone laughed so hard they had tears... including Grandma.
I miss them all so much. We talked about them driving down for Mother's Day. Lori wants to come down but she has to work that Sunday. The spa where she works is having a big Mother's Day promotion and contest, so it could be a very busy day for her. So I might not get to see her until the weekend after. But whichever day they can come will be a good day for me.
Our youngest daughter is in Chicago this weekend. They left very early this morning and will be home late tomorrow night. She, and 4 others she works with, went for a 2-day teaching seminar for massage therapists. Praying they will have a safe trip home.

A cold Saturday
It's another cold day in Ohio. What happened to spring? Thursday the temperature got up to 80° and we were running around in short sleeves. Yesterday we turned the furnace back on and wore our winter coats again.
Today, it's the strong, cold winds that I don't like. It goes right through a body. I think, once we got that one day of warmth, this cold spell feels even worse. It wasn't that long ago that we were wishing we had the 40 degrees.
We have a friend in Canada that commented on my Facebook page last night... "that was your summer, now comes the fall. Global warning, my butt" (edited)
I've been watching the buds on the trees and now my peonies. They've come up
in the last couple days. It amazes me how fast they grow. The picture doesn't show up very well, but they're about 6" tall already. Before long they'll be blooming and I can share more pictures. I love to see that first big bud then the flowers open up. Such a pretty pink.
Our little town used to be the peony capital of the world. Many, many years ago there was a huge garden nursery outside of town that propagated and sold the plants. We used to see them all over town. Washington Street that runs through town, north to south, was lined with different colors of bushes. At that time each spring, they would hold an annual peony parade. Floats were covered with the pedals. But now it seems the parade comes too late, or the bushes are blooming earlier, because there are very few blooms left around town at that time, so the parade consists of bands and wagons. No peonies.
Yesterday, I spent most of the day just doing things around the house while waiting for FedEx to deliver a package I ordered. We had to sign for it so we couldn't leave the house until it arrived.
Our grandson has been on our family cell phone plan for the last several years. It all started when he lived out in the country with his father, who left him alone at times. We were worried about his safety, so we got him a cell phone. Now that he's in college, with no job, he still needs our help. It's amazing how many professors take advantage of the technology to send information, assignments and lesson plans to their students, not to mention the campus security using cell phones to warn the student of dangerous situations. So, Curtis needs one that works. Therefore, I had to order him a new one when his started acting up. It arrived around 4:00 yesterday.
Bob then indulged my latest craving and we went up to Orchard Tree for their Friday seafood buffet. It tasted so good. I love fish. When we pulled into the lot, I saw my sister's car. We found their table and talked to her for awhile. We planned on getting together next week. Her husband, my brother-in-law, is doing very well after his heart attack. He's back to work; he's a contractor.
This afternoon we went over to see the apartment our #3 daughter is moving into. We helped her with a few things until some friends showed up with their truck to help her move some of her furniture. We left. I can't move furniture anymore.
When we got back to town, we had to go out to WalMart to get some things, then came home to get some supper. Now I'm beat. Think I'm going to bed early.
Hope your day was a good one. ♥

Thurs. April 18
My day has been fairly good. It started with sleeping late. Then when I woke up and managed to crawl out of bed, I just goofed around until 11:00. When I noticed the time, I had to hurry around and get up to my appointment with my #3 daughter for a massage.
She worked on my neck and back for a little over an hour. It does feel better but my range of motion is still a problem.
We've had a few severe storm warnings and 2 tornado watches today. The wind was blowing very strong for a few hours, but the storms so far have either weakened or missed us completely. So glad for that. We're still under a watch for tonight with possible thunder storms over-night. The temperature got up to 80° this afternoon until the storm front moved in. The temperature has been falling ever since.... 30+ degrees.
One of the newest stories coming out of the Boston disaster was that the person of interest the FBI had in custody was a Muslim and they deported him immediately. I'm not spreading the story, I'm laughing at it. I guess a 4th person has died from their injuries. How sad.
Bob's at the monthly NRA meeting out at the Elk's Lodge tonight. I didn't want to go. His brother is also a member so he's there too.
I've decided to check into having my hearing tested to see if I need an aid. I feel like everyone is mumbling and I have to constantly ask them to repeat what they said. It's getting worse. I hate to think of wearing one.
I hope you had a good day. Take care.

Tues. April 16
We had a very noisy
night last night. The thunder was awful. It woke me several times. The forecast
for the day was for these to continue. We got a brief spell of sunshine this
afternoon so we took this reprieve to run
out to the pharmacy and to the gas station. We got home just in time. The sun
disappeared while we were at the gas station. It started thundering shortly
after we got home. Just when our
backyard was finally drying up, we get more rain… 3 more days of this.
I didn't do much all
day. My neck is still stiff. I've had heat on it and Bob rubbed it for me. It's
a little better but I still can't move very far.
I tried a new recipe
for supper. It was a Chinese beef and rice casserole. It sounded good, but if I
make it again, there's some things I will change in it.
I spent the evening
working on a jig-saw puzzle online. I finally finished it. 5 hrs. 40 min. It
was a hard one.
There have been so
many false stories and conspiracy theories online today about the tragedy
yesterday in Boston. It's ridiculous how
people love to spread gossip.
I hope you had a
good day.

Bad start to the day
I started writing
this last night, but failed to get it published. So instead of deleting it and
starting over with all new stuff, I'm just adding the latest bits and pieces.
We got off on a bad
note yesterday. We had gotten up early, showered, dressed, ready to leave for
church. My make-up was perfect and I was even having a good hair day. Then Bob
tells me he's sick. We waited about half
an hour to see if he'd be able to go then decided he better not try it. He
wouldn't have been able to listen to the pastor's message if he was worried
about having to dash off to the restroom. We both changed clothes and he went
in to rest. We heard later all about the service and felt bad because we
weren't there. There's always next week, Lord willing.
Today has been a
very nice day. The temperature got up around 70° and partly cloudy. Bob even
felt like getting some of the yard work done. While he was out there, I took
the opportunity to do some work inside where he wasn't in my way. :)
If you're a fan of
The Golden Girls, you may remember the
episode where Rose had the job at the TV station, working with Ricky Moss. Her
job became so stressful she couldn't move her head. That's the way I feel today.
I can't move my head to the left. I had a very stressful conversation with our
youngest daughter last evening about her pending divorce. Or, it could just be
that I slept on it the wrong way. I have
my BioFreeze and it's helping.
I also got a call
from #2 daughter in Michigan last evening. They're doing good. She's been a
busy gal, working at Massage Envy, and now she's been "getting her ducks
in a row" as she said, so she can get a DBA and all the necessary
paperwork and items to work out of her home.
This day didn't end
very well, did it? The bombings at the Boston Marathon is such a shock and a
sad day for so many people. This is just not right. Our country has never been
through attacks like we've had since the civil war. The last I heard about the
bombing, while I was putting supper on the table, was that they had a 'person
of interest' in custody at the hospital with severe burns.
I hope you've had a
pleasant day. God be with us all.

strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the

Pharaoh and our government
I got this in an
email today and I wanted to share it.
Genesis
47:13-27
VIRGINIA
CHURCH SERVICE
I
would love to give 3 cheers to the Pastor of this predominantly black church in
Virginia.
This guy is obviously a leader. Perhaps we should
each
decide who our real leader is ... It is amazing to see that very little
has
changed in 4,000 years.
Good
morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews
crowded
on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word. Turn
with
me in your Bibles, if you will, to the 47th chapter of Genesis. We'll
begin
our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.
Brother
Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? ... (reading)
....
Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray. So we see that economic
hard
times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of
Pharaoh
to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain
harvest,
and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the
people
brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave
it
all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money
ran
out, and they were hungry again.
So
when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock - their
cattle,
their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and
verse
17 says that only took them through the end of that year. But the famine
wasn't
over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and
admitted
they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. "There
is
nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should
we
die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food,
and
we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh." So they surrendered their
homes,
their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh's government, and then sold
themselves
into slavery to him, in return for grain.
What
can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?
That
turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard
times
only leads to slavery? Yes... That the only reason government wants to
be
our provider is to also become our master? Yes.
But look
how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled
in
the land of Egypt , in the land of Goshen . And they gained possessions in it,
and
were fruitful and multiplied greatly." God provided for His people, just
as
He
always has! They didn't end up giving all their possessions to government,
no,
it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and
an
ominous one.
We
see the same thing happening today - the government today wants to
"share
the wealth" once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us.
It
wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education,
and
ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government
decides
who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it,
and
do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt
did
four thousand years ago - as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our
leaders.
What
Mr. Obama's government is doing now is no different from what
Pharaoh's
government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people
like
to call Mr. Obama a "Messiah," don't they? Is he a Messiah? A savior?
Didn't
the
Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, "You have saved our
lives;
may
it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh"? Well, I tell you this
- I know
the
Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. OBAMA IS NO MESSIAH!
No,
brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is
Pharaoh.
Bow with
me in prayer, if you will..
Lord,
You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone.
We
confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be.
We
read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of
what
a ruler would do, where it says "And in that day you will cry out because
of
your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not
answer
you in that day..."
And
Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of
the
ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this
nation.
We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would
be
our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect
Your
people from the atrocities of Pharaoh's governments like Communist
and
Socialist in the World - In God We
Trust
It is sad to contemplate the vitriol that will be heaped on this
Pastor by
Obama's minions because of these truth.

Another stormy day
We had thunder
storms off and on all last night with lots and lots of rain. I wasn't
surprised to see all the water in our backyard this morning. Now they say to
expect more tonight. The rivers are still rising. They probably won't crest until tomorrow afternoon sometime at 6 ft. over flood stage! Highway 224 west is
closed and Rt. 49 south. Here in town we've gotten 3.6" with the possibly of another 1" tonight. The temperature today was suppose to get
up to 62° but it didn't make it.
We just got back
from seeing our tax man. He did have good news for us… very good. All we owe
this year is $11.00 for the school, $0 to the state and we get all of our
Federal back. We're very happy.
We got a phone call
earlier today. The ID said "consumer research". I won't answer those
types of calls anymore, so I asked Bob if he wanted to talk to them, answer
their questions. He did. They identified themselves, very rapidly, but he said it
was just a bunch of letters that made no sense at all. The first thing she
asked was to speak to the youngest registered voter in the household. He said "that would be me". Actually he's 7 months older than me. hahaha
Now why
would they ask that? Next they asked "when you vote, do you vote Democrat or Republican"? He said he votes for
the person he thinks will do the best job. She said thank you and hung up. Now if we had an 18 year old child in the
house, I can imagine the kinds of things they would have asked/told them. The
way this administration is brain-washing the younger generation, this bothers
me a lot. Bob said he should have told her he was still waiting for his free
cell phone, or tell her "Obama said he'd pay my mortgage and he hasn't
done it yet".
That's about all for
today. I'm going to work on a jigsaw puzzle then take my Kindle to bed. The book I'm reading now is getting very interesting. Can't wait to find out "who done it".
Hope you've had a
good day.

Stormy Wednesday
We had to run out to
the grocery this afternoon, couldn't put it off any longer. We were out of so
many things. Our area had been under a thunderstorm watch until 3:00 pm. So we
decided to get going before the storm hit. It was getting dark when we left,
just starting to sprinkle when we came out, but before we got home it was
coming down in sheets! Pea-size hail. Strong winds. Dangerous lightning. We managed to get the groceries into the
house before we got soaked (detached garage). It was awful.
I have an app on my
phone connected with a local TV station that sends out storm warnings to
subscribers. While we were in the grocery, my phone went off 4 times. I got one
while getting checked out so I told the checkout lady and she was very
appreciative. I remember what it was like, working inside a building all day,
not knowing what was going on outside unless someone told me.
We have a nephew
living in Texas. Bob got a message via Facebook last evening that his daughter
needed help with a school assignment. It had to do with her family tree. Hey…
right up my alley. I gave him all the information she needed so he could write
her back. Later she had another question that I couldn't answer, so guess what
I did today…. Research. I was able to find the information she wanted. Now
she's happy and I got more dates to put in our family tree.
I made one of Bob's
favorites for supper tonight… corned beef and cabbage. He enjoyed every bite
and said he was glad I thought of it. I aim to please.
We finally heard from our tax man. He knew by all the messages we left in his voice mail that we were not happy. We have an appointment with him tomorrow evening. I just hope to see some good news. If we owe money to the state, we will be hurting. He knows we're on a fixed income and things like that need to be budgeted for.

We are currently
getting the 3rd wave of thunderstorms for the day. It's coming down so hard we can't see
the neighbor's house. Our backyard is flooded. I can now say I live in a
beachfront property. This is suppose to keep up until Tomorrow evening. This is
not good.
I hope you had a
good Wednesday.
May Thursday be even better.
Take care.

Tues. April 9
The sky finally
cleared up late this afternoon and the sun came out. The temperature got up
82°. Wonderful!! We turned off the furnace and opened windows. I loved it.
Fresh warm air. But as usual, this is not going to last long. By the weekend,
we could have more snow and cold winds. Crazy. The part I hate it when this
sudden warm up brings bad storms.
We had our first
spring thunderstorm last night. It was one of those where the thunder went on
and on, vibrating the windows. And that lightning! It wasn't in streaks. It was
the kind that lit up the whole sky with that bright white, destroying your night vision.
In the morning news…
"On Barack and
Michelle Obama's schedule for today, this event was listed:
7:30PM --- THE PRESIDENT and THE FIRST LADY host a concert
celebrating Memphis Soul music as part of their “In Performance at the White
House” series; THE PRESIDENT delivers remarks"
This is the Obama's
10th private party! Performers at the White House for this exclusive
event: Justin Timberlake (who will be
making his White House debut), Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi
Lauper, Joshua Ledet, Sam Moore, Charlie Musselwhite, Mavis Staples, and
others.
The guest list for
this private event has not been released.
To attend any event
at the White House, you must be invited and especially now since the White
House has been closed to the general public.
That big beautiful white house is now Obama's mansion. The taxpayers no
longer own it, according to him.
The word for the
day…. Frustration. I fixed our supper a
little early today because we both didn't have any lunch. I was just 5 minutes
from putting it on the table when the doorbell rings. It's Bob's brother. He knew
I was cooking. He said he didn't want to eat with us. He was only going to stay
a minute. An hour and a half later he leaves.
I managed to keep the food from over-cooking, just barely. Another 10
minutes and it would have fed the disposal.
My second
frustration today …. Our tax man! He's had our paperwork for 2 weeks and he won't return any of our calls. We've known
him for years, he's a nice guy and he does us a good job, but this is getting
ridiculous. He does this every year.
We're sure he has them done by now. He
works in the bank and does taxes in the evenings. Now, thanks to him, we have less than a week
to get them in and we don't even know if we owe the state or what we have.
We've never been this late getting them in. I think next year we might have to
find someone else.
I hope you had a
great day.

A beautiful Sunday
Bob and I have this
reoccurring argument. I'm tired of all the "stuff" we have. I don't
know where all the dust comes from, but it collects on all of it. He won't let
me get rid of anything but he won't dust it either. Grrrrr! Oh, don't get me wrong… it's not junk and I
try to keep it looking nice, but I'm tired of it. We have knick-knacks,
collectibles, books, ect. He's not a pack-rat, per se, but he's close. He
doesn't like to just give things away…. If you don't want it, sell it. I've
tried selling some things, but no one
wants to buy our stuff. They say one man's junk is another man's treasure. Not
true. I've tried garage sales, worked my butt off for 5 days, and only made only $20. I've tried to sell some things
online, no one wants them. I just want to take some of this stuff to Goodwill.
He won't. I think this housewife is going to have to put her foot down and win
this argument. Maybe.
Another problem is
the house. We bought this little 3 bedroom bungalow 20 years ago and I like
living here. But I'm still looking at the same old wallpaper, the old blue
carpet in this room, and the same old furniture. We have not been able to come
up with money to buy new or hire anyone to help with the things that need
done. We can't do it ourselves. I'm so
ashamed to have anyone come here.
We went to church
this morning at Calvary Evangelical. The service was very good. Bob likes the
pastor, so I'm pretty sure we'll be going again. It just felt right. Of course we really can't tell from just one
visit, so we'll give it a few more weeks. We did talk to several friends that
we went to church with years ago. It was good seeing them all again. They all
acted very pleased to see us. After we
left church, we went up to Orchard Tree for brunch. The place was packed,
as it always is on Sundays. Now that my belly's full, I feel like taking a nap.
Our weather today is
another beautiful sunshiny day. 62° and
not a cloud in sight. But as they say in Ohio, just wait…. It'll change. The
forecast for the next 3 days is rain.
I hope you're having
a good day.

A Beautiful Saturday
We are having
another beautiful day. The temperature is to get up to 57° with lots of
sunshine.
And the trees are
budding. We will be seeing some green leaves soon. Our grass is starting to
show signs of color and not that ugly brown we've seen all winter.
I had a good day
yesterday. Bob and I ran a couple errands then came back home. Around dinner
time he decided we both needed a break from the stove, so we went up to Orchard
Tree. When we left there, he wanted to run over to a local gun shop to give the
owner some tickets for the Outdoorsmen's Club raffle. This man has a nice
little shop behind his house, only open in the evenings, and always busy. Of
course Bob got to talking to the men in there, leaving me in the car. But I had
my iPhone so I listened to some music (Raditaz app) and played a game (Ruzzle).
Since Bob retired,
he's gotten more involved with the Outdoorsmen's Club. They wanted him to be the secretary, but he turned that down. So he's one of the grounds
keepers/maintenance. He attends all the meetings,
and helps with the public shoots.
With his membership to the club, we can go out and use the range anytime
we want. Now he's joined the Friends of
the NRA. I went to one of their meetings last month. They're planning a big
banquet in August, but I'm not sure if I want to help with that or not.
Last Thursday in my
post I got to whining and feeling sorry for myself and I want to thank everyone
for your nice comments . However, that
was only part of what's been bothering me. There is something that's been torturing
me for a long time, but I haven't said anything about it.
Bob and I have not
had a church home in the last year and it's been bothering us so much. It's a
very long story that I won't go into now. Maybe later. Anyways, Bob's brother
and his wife have started attending a large church here in town. They had been going
to the same small church we attended, but when things got so bad, a lot of us
left. That's when they started looking for a new place. Bob and I didn't. They
have been telling us about their new pastor, what he preached and believed.
Answering every question I threw at them. They're happy there so Bob and I have
decided to give in and try attending Calvary church.
We've been praying
about this for a long time. We tried the church my sister goes to. It's nice, a
lot of people we know go there, but we felt the Lord was telling us
"this is not where I want you".
Another long story. Anyways, we are going to Calvary in the morning for the first time.
Pray for us?
I'm getting a very
slow start on the things I have to do today, so I better get off here and get
at least some of them done.
I hope you are
having a wonderful day.

Random Thoughts
Today's post will be
just a bunch of random thoughts going through my head. Be careful if you fall asleep during the
reading that you don't hurt your head when it drops.
Yesterday was the
40th birthday of the cell phone. On April 3, 1973 the first cell phone went
public. It cost around $1,000 and was very big and heavy. We've come a long
way. Mine is small and very light weight.
At my age I can't say "I couldn't live without it" because I
did and I was just fine.
Our weather is
fairly nice today. The sun is shining brightly. The temperature is going up to
57°. They're saying we could see the mid 60's by the weekend. Spring is coming
slowly.
I can't believe that
one of those Febreze Stick-ums can mask the odor of all that garbage.
I got bored
yesterday afternoon so I hooked up our turn-table with the needed cables to my
computer, dug out our case of old 45's and copied a few of the songs to my
computer so I can transfer them to CD's. They are kind of scratchy but it
brought back lots of memories.
At our family dinner
last Saturday, our grand-daughter brought her boyfriend. We were all sitting at
the table, playing SongPop. When we got to the oldies, we got to talking about
the old records. Christian said he'd never seen a 45 rpm vinyl record. I had to chuckle. He is just a youngster,
after all.
I had a frustrating situation last evening with my Kindle Fire. I was reading a good
book and very interested in the part of the story. I was quickly swiping the
screen to get to the next page. A couple times it felt like something sticky on
the screen, so I wiped it off rather hurriedly, in an up and down motion. The Kindle took me from chapter
18 to chapter 59 in one swoop. I had an awful time getting back to where I was
originally. I won't do that again. Note
to self: close down the book BEFORE cleaning the screen!
I've been feeling
sorry for myself lately. I know I shouldn't but the same thoughts keep going
through my head. (I have no close
friends anymore) All I have are the people I chat with online, but not one of
them would search for or wonder about me if I unplugged this computer. As for my social life… I have none.
Then I'm reminded of
this bit of wisdom:
Life is an echo.
What you send out - comes back.
What you sow - you
reap.
What you give - you
get.
What you see in
others - exists in you.
Life is an echo - it
always comes back to you.
I hope you have a
great day.
